9pm rolls around and Louis comes to my house to pick me up. I greet him and he's in a vest and a button up and I'm really suspicious but he tells me his roommate Travis was going to a party and he wanted to dress up. Naturally I believed that.
We arrive at his house and I open his apartment door to THIS FUCKING SCENE RIGHT HERE.

He had cooked me the most amazing fucking dinner in the world. I asked him why the hell he was doing it and he was like "I needed to make it up to you." which was legitimately the sweetest thing in the world. I told him I was still kind of bothered but that this was an incredible effort and display of affection on his part. He got me a rose and a bottle of wine, and even lit a candle too. He cleared out his roommates too and put on some classy piano music (LOL)
As cheesy as it seemed, I really liked the romantic feel to it. But I wish I had been dressed classier. It was definitely a scene with me in my work clothes and him all dolled up.
I wish I had found out. I was really suspicious on the way over when he said he went to the liquor store because he doesn't really drink...ever...and I was especially suspicious when he said he bought a bunch of beer.
Anyway, he made a really great steak, some zucchini and mozzarella and rosemary potatoes and it was soooo friggin tasty. Since food is the direct line to my heart, I'm really going to whine about more home cooked meals after being spoiled by this. I was really happy to finally taste his cooking!!
While it didn't take away all bad feelings, it really helped me feel better. Seeing this effort was refreshing because I had never had someone spoil me like this in a previous relationship and I really appreciated the fact that he took time out of his day to accomplish this. I think if he didn't care or want this to work out, he wouldn't have made such an effort. What a keeper! I'm probably gonna turn into a brat if he keeps this up though.
